Scène des massacres de Scio (meaning: The Kios Massacre Scene), the painting by French painter Eugène Delacroix completed in 1824. The work is currently on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The subject of the painting is the Chios Massacre. During the Greek Revolt, the military operation against civilians started by the Ottoman Army on 11 April 1822 and continued for a few months in the summer of the same year resulted in the deaths of 20,000 civilians and almost all of the 70,000 residents being made slaves.
