InSight is a spacecraft designed to study the depths of Mars. [6] It is manufactured by Lockheed Martin and operated by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of NASA. The mission was launched on May 5, 2018 at 11.05 am (UTC). Launched by the Atlas V-401 rocket, InSight successfully landed on Mars' Elysium Planitia at 19:52:59 (UTC) on November 26, 2018. The journey took 483 million kilometers. It is planned to place a seismograph and a heat probe in the landing area. It will also conduct a series of radio science experiments to complete studies on Mars' internal structure and rotation.
