The different colors for girls and boys, toy cars being bought for boys and dolls for girls, and many other things engrave gender roles in our brains from an early age. We do not accept that children are individuals, we act as if they are dough that we can shape. Societal pressures also play a large role in this situation. Even colors and toys have a gender due to social nonsense like a baby boy wearing blue instead of pink, or a baby boy wearing pink is called "girly". How wrong!

The toys we give to children or the behaviors we attribute to them can leave deep traces that continue throughout their lives. Although these distinctions may seem innocent at first, our sexist worlds leave deeper traces in the development of children as time goes on. These affect their behavior in society as well as their opinions and decisions about themselves.
