After being expelled from his school in Detroit, 15-year-old Cole (Caleb McLaughlin) sets off to North Philadelphia to live with his estranged father Harp (Idris Elba). Harp finds peace by working on the rehabilitation of horses here. While doing this task in Fletcher Street Stables, it also ensures the safety of the neighborhood. This community has preserved the peace in the neighborhood for almost 100 years. Increasing his respect for his father's community, Cole also begins to befriend his troubled cousin Smush (Jharrel Jerome) again. Cole has decided to put this community at the center of his life, and he struggles with the gentrification of the neighborhood.
