Chemical formula (sometimes molecular formula is also used) is a method that provides detailed and clear information about the atoms that make up a chemical compound. For molecular compounds, they denote the elements in them by their chemical symbols and the number of those elements by the numbers next to that atom. If a molecule contains more than one atom, the quantities of these atoms are indicated by the subtitles next to them. For ionic compounds and non-molecular substances, the ratios at which the atoms enter are indicated by these subtitles.
